Notes from the Roaster
Only a short handful of years ago small producers in Huehuetenango often had to sell their coffees in the local markets at bargain basement prices and with all their hard work being lost in thousands of other coffee lots. Around 5 years ago Luis Pedro Zelaya of Bella Vista mill started projects in communities around Huehuetenango to purchase parchment directly from these small producers and get them in the hands of those who will truly appreciate the amazing microlots that were coming out of small villages.
Nima is a municipality in the San Pedro Necta region of Huehuetenango. The Nima region coffees were very special. These are very tiny farms producing coffee loaded with complex fruit and floral flavors!
