Notes from the Roaster
Introducing Nahun Sanchez, our latest Honudran coffee named for the farmer who grew the beans. Located in the village of Zurzular, the Los Ocotes farm sits at 1590 masl and has been running for the last 15 years. It wasn't until 11 years ago that Nahun moved from the capitol city to his farm and began the slow process of improving his coffee.
"The first years were very difficult but I was improving little by little" said Nahun. "In 2017 I tried to participate in the competition of specialty coffee (from) the region and won 2nd place. The next year, I participated in the Cup of Excellence national competition. I did not win, but I know Arturo Paz and he helped me to connect my coffee with buyers of special coffee."
We are proud to serve this washed coffee that features tasting notes of berries and meyer lemon. The coffee is double washed and solar dried for a sparkly, bright flavor.
