Notes from the Roaster
Telesforo Gonzalez Pineda's coffee comes from the town of San Juan Quiahije, in the Sierra Sur region of Oaxaca. The Sierra Sur region has a storied coffee history thanks to its Pluma Hidalgo variety. The variety gained much renown in the 80's and 90's before falling out of favor. While a number of factors led to the decline in the Pluma Hidalgo coffee name, the potential for producing exceptional and distinct coffee was not one.
Coffees from this region have a saccharine sweetness and an incredible thickness. Pineda's coffee is rich with chocolate and dried-fruit notes and a hint of brighter fruit and wildflower notes.
